Frequently asked questions

Will I be sore after my adjustment?

There are three possibilities after an adjustment; one either feels a bit sore, feels no difference or feels better. Occasionally, there is a period of ‘re-adjustment’ as your body becomes accustomed to being realigned. There may be some stiffness or soreness (headache, joint pain), but this usually settles within a few hours or days.

What is the ‘cracking’ noise that happens when getting adjusted?

There is a common misconception that the noise is the bones being ‘crunched’; in fact, it is gas (a mixture of nitrogen, carbon dioxide and oxygen) being released from the joint capsule as the joint is realigned.

Do all adjustments make a ‘cracking’ sound?

No, you don’t have to be cracked to be adjusted. There are different techniques that the chiropractor can use to adjust the spine.

Do you crack babies? How do you adjust babies/children?

No. Babies and children are adjusted very gently, using either an Activator adjusting instrument or with very light pressure applied to a specific point. Babies and children are incredibly easy to adjust as they haven’t experienced as much stress on their systems as adults have.

How long do I have to see you for/how many visits will it take until I’m better?

No case or individual is the same, and it all depends upon your health goals. The initial period of care can take weeks or months, depending upon a few things including your chronicity (how long you have been this way) and your current state of health. After experiencing various benefits of Chiropractic Care, many individuals and families choose to be on wellness care. This means they are adjusted regularly for the maintenance of their health.

How can I pay?

Payments can be done either by EFTPOS, cash or via online banking (Bank details can be provided upon request).

Are you ACC Registered?

Yes we are.
